United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 25) will take place from December 2 to13 in Spain's Madrid.

Though it was scheduled to be held in Chile this year, but the government of Chile proposed on November 1 to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to hold the conference in Madrid.

However, the conference will take place under the Presidency of the Government of Chile and will be held with logistic support from the Government of Spain. The President-designate for the conference is Carolina Schmidt, Minister of Environment of Chile.

The UN Climate Change secretariat is now working closely with the Governments of Chile and Spain to organise the conference as efficiently and expeditiously as possible, says a release of UNFCCC.

Every effort is being made to allow a large participation and to maintain the scope of exhibition spaces and events as planned. The final list of side events and exhibits will be adjusted to the available space at the venue.
