Yearly exhibition of Charukala’s Department of Crafts underway
The six-day long yearly exhibition, by the Department of Crafts of the Faculty of Fine Art, University of Dhaka (DU)is underway at Jainul Gallery. The exhibition started on November 28. Professor Dr Muhammad Samad, Pro Vice-Chancellor of DU inaugurated the event. The special guest at the opening programme was Professor Nisar Hossain, Dean of FA. Eminent artists Abdus Sakur Shah and Rokeya Isla were also present at the event, presided by Md Abdul Momen, Chairman of the department.
The exhibition features works by the students of the department, made with wood, metal, tapestry, aplic, batik and paper. 127 works by 54 students were chosen for this exhibition, all of which were done in the year 2019. Every year, the department organises such exhibitions to encourage the students to hone their skills.
The open-for-all exhibition will be held from 10 am to 8 pm till December 3.
