Evidence of rape found in forensic test
Doctors have found the evidence of rape after a forensic test of a student of Dhaka University.
Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin, director of DMCH, told the Daily Star that forensic doctors found evidence of rape of the student.
“There is a fingerprint at her throat. It is believed that an attempt was made to strangle her. There are signs of injuries in the hands and feet. There are wounds all over the foot. Rape in the bushes can cause the scars,” Sohel Mahmud, head of forensic medicine department at Dhaka Medical College, told reporters.
A second-year student of Dhaka University was raped and tortured in the capital’s Kurmitola area last night.
The incident happened while she was walking from Kurmitola bus stop to a friend’s house in a nearby area around 7:30 pm yesterday.
Her fellow students and several DU employees brought her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around midnight and got her admitted to the hospital.
