Mymensingh-Chattogram train services resume after 10hrs

Rail communication on the Mymensingh-Chattogram route resumed this morning after almost nine hours of suspension following the derailment of a train in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh last night.

The three compartments of Chattogram-bound ‘Bijoy Express’ from Mymensingh which veered off the tracks around 10:00 PM were recovered around 7:00 AM, our local correspondent reports quoting Md Jahurul Islam, superintendent of Mymensingh Railway Station.

The derailment had cut off the rail link between Mymensingh with Chattogram.
