Man held with cocaine worth Tk 15cr in Chattogram

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a man with 820 grammes of cocaine worth around Tk 15 crore in Chattogram early today.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the elite force arrested Md Bakhtiar Hossain, 32, in Tigerpass area around 1:30 am and recovered the cocaine from his possession, said Assistant Superintendent of Police Tarique Aziz of Rab-7.

In primary interrogation, the arrestee admitted that he collected cocaine worth around Tk 15 crore from Lucky Plaza in Agrabad area, the Rab official told our Chattogram staff correspondent.

Rab came to know the names of the supplier and the person who was supposed to receive the drug from Bakhtiar, a resident of Agrabad area, he added.

A case was later filed in this connection with Kotwali Police Station.
