SSC examinee run over by water tanker, dies

An SSC examinee was killed after a Wasa water tanker ran him over in the city’s Wari area this noon.
The victim was identified as Abir Ahmed, a student of Wari High School.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Jahir Hossain, sub-inspector of Wari Police Station, said students came to the school to attend their farewell before SSC examination scheduled to start on February 3.
The student was run over when he was standing on the street leaving him critically injured.
Abir was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police seized the vehicle and detained its driver after the incident.
Fellow students and teachers staged demonstration blocking the road after his death.
