BNP’s Ishraque promises a modern, better Dhaka in manifesto
BNP mayoral candidate for Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Ishraque Hossain today pledged a modern and world-class metropolis where heritage blends with modern amenities.
In his manifesto, Ishraque focused primarily on healthcare, education, environment, communication system and public safety.
The BNP mayoral candidate presented his manifesto at the National Press Club this afternoon where he also reiterated his determination to boost moral values of people in the wake of widespread violence against women and children.
“City dwellers are riddled with many problems and I am on the same page with them,” Ishraque said promising to free the city from pollution, traffic and waterlogging if he is elected.
He also highlighted people’s plight in accessing various social services and blamed corruption, social discrimination and lack of accountability for it.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Mirza Abbas, Prof Emajuddin Ahmed, Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) President ASM Abdur Rob, were present at the press conference, among others.
