PM receives ‘Joy Bangla Concert’ souvenirs
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has received t-shirts, mugs and posters for the upcoming "Joy Bangla Concert-2020", to be held on March 7.
Trustee of Centre for Research and Information (CRI) and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu handed over the souvenirs to the prime minister at her official residence yesterday.
According to a CRI statement today, the annual Joy Bangla Concert will be held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium on March 7 in reminiscence of the historic March 7 speech of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Young Bangla, an initiative of CRI and a leading youth network of the country, has been hosting the mega event every year since 2015 to revive the spirit of Liberation War.
This year the country is also celebrating "Mujib Borsho" (Mujib Year) from March 17, marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Some of the leading musical bands of the country Fuad and Friends, Arbovirus, Cryptic Fate, Shunno, Nemesis, Vikings, Avoid Rafa, Chirkut, Minar, Lalon, and F Minor will be performing at the concert, according to the statement.
Like previous years, the bands will perform songs of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra as well as their own songs.
The event will also feature graphical representation on Bangabandhu's March 7 speech and the Liberation War.
Registration for the event will commence shortly. Valid national ID, passport or birth registration certificate, phone number and email address will be required.
The event will be open for all, the statement added.
