Don’t gather at BSMMU: Rizvi to BNP men
As the government today decided to release Khaleda Zia for six months on humanitarian grounds and considering her age, BNP has asked leaders and activists of the party and its associate bodies not to gather at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University where she is under treatment.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the call in a press release this evening following a gathering of the party's leaders and activists in and outside of BSMMU, soon after getting information that Khaleda Zia would be released.
He asked his party men to offer prayers from their respective positions to resolve the current situation.
Earlier, Law Minister Anisul Huq at a press conference at his Gulshan residence said that the government today decided to release the BNP chairperson for six months.
The government suspended her sentence as per section 401 of Criminal Code of Procedure, he told the reporters at a press briefing.
However, Khaleda, the former prime minister of the county, has to stay home in Dhaka and receive her treatment here, the law minister said.
