No entry, exit from Ctg except emergency: CMP
No people or vehicles will be allowed to enter or leave Chattogram metropolitan area except in case of emergencies, police said today after the countrywide shutdown imposed to check coronavirus transmission was extended until April 14.
"With exceptions to the emergency services, we are not allowing anybody to get in Chattogram or to leave it from 10:00pm today until further notice," Mohammad Abu Bakar Siddiq, additional deputy commissioner (public relations) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police, said in a statement.
Emergency services, medical services, transport of essential commodities and of export commodities will remain out of purview of the directive, ADC Abu Bakar also said.
CMP has already set up check posts at entry points of the city and at different points within the city to ensure that people abide by the directive which has been imposed for the greater good of the city dwellers, he said.
Stern legal actions will be taken against those who defy the directive, the official added.
