Guardian Life introduces ‘Coronavirus safety net’ for bankers
The world economy has been in a turmoil due to the outbreak of Covid-19. The global pandemic has also resulted in Bangladesh facing some severe challenges.
As such, Guardian Life has created an insurance package called 'Corona safety net' for bankers who are working through this shutdown, according to a press release sent to media.
The insurance package comes in response to Bangladesh Bank's directives to all commercial banks to provide Covid-19 insurance coverage to bankers working during the lockdown.
"Guardian Life is committed to providing best insurance services through product and service innovation," the press release added.
The plan will provide an instant one-off payout of Tk 5 lakh to Tk 10 lakh in case an insured bank employee is diagnosed with Covid-19.
Additionally, hospitalisation benefits of up to Tk 5 lakh will be provided.
In case of death of an insured bank employee from Covid-19, Tk 25 lakh to Tk 50 lakh will be paid to the family, said M M Monirul Alam, managing director and CEO of Guardian Life.
