Khaleda’s Facebook post seeks vote for BNP candidates
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a Facebook post has called upon voters to cast their votes in favour of the party’s mayoral candidates in the December 30 municipality elections.
The 38-second video speech was posted on the BNP’s Facebook page at the wee hours of today and will be there till the election campaign ends at 12:00am of tomorrow, Emran Saleh Prince, an assistant publicity secretary of BNP, told The Daily Star.
Wearing a greenish saree and keeping “sheaf of paddy”, BNP’s election symbol, on the left side of a table, Khaleda in her brief speech called upon all the municipality voters to go to the polling centres and cast their votes for the sake of protecting their voting rights, democracy, peace, security and development and to elect the BNP candidates.
The party has targeted to reach over four to five lakh people through the Facebook. Internet users will also be able to see the video in 20 different media websites, added Emran.
KHALEDA’S EMERGENY BRIEFING
Khaleda will hold an emergency news conference tomorrow afternoon at her Gulshan office, BNP said in a press release.
Party insiders said in the briefing she will come up with her final and last moment call to people to cast their votes to BNP’s mayoral candidates.
Among other contemporary affairs, the BNP chief will explain her party’s stance behind boycotting the January 5, 2014 one-sided national election and reasons behind participating in the municipality polls, added the source.
