Window Into Khulna’s Multi-Cultural Past
Khulna Divisional Museum, the only museum in Khulna city, is a treasure trove of artifacts of the region's rich history. It houses pieces from archaeological sites of all the districts in the division. Displayed for visitors are Buddhist artifacts from the Bharat Bhayna archaeological site in Jashore, sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses, metal pottery, coins and manuscripts, as well as scripture and tablets from the Khan Jahan Ali mosque in Bagerhat. The museum covers all historic periods – Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim Sultanate and Mughal dynasty -- of the country.
