Inter-university competition Negocio 1.0 brings the best sales strategies

Negocio 1.0, inter-university sales strategy competition was organised by Communic, the communication club of IBA-JU, the grand finale of which was held on August 12, 2020. Its title sponsor was Dabur Sanitize. The whole competition was held online due to the Covid-19 situation.

Undergraduate students from the same universities were allowed to participate in Negocio 1.0 forming teams of 3 or 4 members. The competition consisted of three rounds. The first round started from July 21 where the registered teams needed to solve a sales strategy-based case for one of the biggest brands of the country. Based on the marks of the first round, 36 teams were selected for the second round. Finally, seven teams went for the final round on August 12. The prize money for the champion team was BDT 40,000. The first and the second runner-up teams received BDT 20,000 and BDT 10,000 respectively. Team Blank snatched the championship, whereas Team Ramen and Team DIY became the first and second runners up of the competition respectively. The top three teams are from Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.

Not only that, all the participating teams received an exciting gift voucher from Bohubrihi, the E-Learning partner, and the top campus ambassadors received a unique opportunity to get their CVs forwarded to our skill development partner, Smartifier Academy. In the current pandemic situation and while adapting to the new normal way of life, team COMMUNIC made sure the finalist teams as well as the judges received the warmth of a physical tournament by providing comfort food at their doorsteps, sponsored by Cornucopia, food partner for Negocio 1.0.

The president of the club, Tousif Shabab was really excited to take this step forward and said, "We are probably going through the most difficult period of our 20 years of life, we wanted to take the time and reach out to the youth of the community to give them something exciting to work with. It was a really difficult thing to pull off but our team worked relentlessly to give everyone involved a great experience."

Negocio 1.0 gave the biggest national platform to showcase and develop skills of convincing consumers through sales strategies. The participants got to explore the real life implications of sales and promotional strategies. The additional funds raised from the competition were also donated to plant 100 trees in the Sundarbans.

Communic is proud to be the organiser of this biggest online sales competition. The club creates platforms for students to learn, practice and master fundamental and specialized communication skills through various programs, workshops, sessions and competitions.
