Cancer can’t defeat my mom, says Diti’s daughter

Celebrity actress Parveen Sultana Diti is renowned in the Bangladeshi film industry for her eternal beauty and versatile talent. Behind her tender appearance and bold persona, she is suffering from cancer. She developed a brain tumor on the left side of her brain, which was shortly removed by operation in Chennai.

But a recent heartbreaking Facebook post by her daughter Lamia Chowdhury reveals that Diti is dying.

She writes, “She's dying. There's nothing else doctors can do for her. Now she has developed secondary Parkinsons disease from radiation side effects. Her cancer is not going to kill her. Her tumor is not back. The radiation is what did this to her.”

She's dying. Stop asking me about her. Stop giving me bullshit condolences that she will recover soon. There's nothing...

Lamia does not want her mother to spend her life like a lab rat. She posts, “I will not pray for her recovery anymore and if you are praying then please pray for a quick and easy departure for her. If God has mercy he will do the kind thing and end her suffering fast. At some point we need to understand life is a boon for the healthy and a curse on those suffering.”

Hours later, in a second post Lamia posts a picture of Diti collecting her hair (that is falling due to the severe chemotherapy) in a bag, saying she would save it to make a pair of wigs-one for herself and another for her balding friend.

She began to collect her hair in a bag when it started to come off. She didn't get sentimental about it. All her doctors...

Lamia expresses her amazement at the strength of her mother saying, “Like gods true soldier she faithfully kept marching forward, ready to face any adversity, without complaint. Fearless. She never felt sorry for herself. Her optimism by turns astounded, inspired and sometimes disgusted me. That is who she has been her whole life. Undefeatable.”
