Match 3 of The Daily Star GENIUS powered by Walton Smart Fridge, an online inter-school quiz competition, took place on Monday night between Scholastica Uttara, ABC International School, and Sir John Wilson School (SJWS). It was a hard fought battle of knowledge that had the students answering questions about topics ranging from Mymensingh to Istanbul, from Liton Das to Rafael Nadal, and more.

Ishmam Hossain from SJWS emerged victorious after 40 testing questions, with Saif AL Imam Shota from Scholastica Uttara coming in second, and Maysoon Anushka from ABC International School filling in the last spot. The questions were challenging, and right from the beginning, the contest looked close. Ishmam had the lead after the first quarter, but Anushka and Shota kept creeping closer to his lead. Halfway into the contest, Shota overtook Ishmam for the lead, and he looked solid until Ishmam turned the tide in the third quarter to take the lead back. Anushka had fallen further behind, but Shota was still within touching distance at the beginning of the rapid fire round. In the end, however, the table remained the same. Ishmam topped it with 1714 points, Shota came in second at 1647 points, with Anushka ending at 1051 points.  

"I feel great, and I'm happy for all the support I got from my friends in the comments," said a surprisingly composed Ishmam at the end of the contest. He proceeds to the next round where he will be joined by the winner of the other matches of the first round.
