Adbox: Inspiring creative minds
Adbox was started back in 2018, by a couple of students from North South University. The students are Omar Faruk Riyad, Chief Executive Officer of Adbox and Mozammel Haque Johny, the Chief Marketing Officer. "Standing out in a mass crowd of production companies in Bangladesh is a challenge. We had to face a lot of hurdles, from figuring out the right scope of the field which isn't occupied to filling the gap in the market. Eventually, having a diverse team, with all the necessary creative wings can be a way to approach that gap and stand out on our own," says Omar. The team at Adbox consists of young and skilled photographers, editors, cinematographers, scriptwriters, and digital content creators.
Amidst the pandemic, on July 1, 2020, the team started off their business with full force by bringing in Naimul Hossain Durjoy, Chief Financial Offier and Nehal Hossain, Chief Operating Officer. While the pandemic had slowed down the startup ecosystem, the youngsters at Adbox took advantage of the extra time that it handed them, and got started with their goal of creating professional and sophisticated videos catered to their customers.
Adbox's specialties are cinematography, motion graphics and photography projects. They also do advertisement production, aerial drone footage, and film-based work as well as music videos, TVCs and promotional videos. Besides, they create slideshows for corporate meetings, logo animations, and 2D animation videos alongside product photography and band photography. "Just over the pandemic, we ensured having a set of full frame Sony mirror less cameras along with various lenses, full light set up for indoor and outdoor shoots along with backdrops and green screens," says Nehal. "Two different professional drones with experienced drone operators, professional voiceover artistes and several cinematographers who are highly experienced and skilled were also brought in, along with editors, script writers and content designers. We have divided our core team into different sectors to look over the company's activities."
Staffed with professionals who have in-depth expertise and technical proficiency in their fields, Adbox offers video production services to deliver high-quality results for their clients, while addressing different relevant issues and objectives to engage the audience and projecting the brand the best way they can. They value creativity in their work, and believe that it can solve seemingly insurmountable problems. "The dream was big from the inception. I realised that I would not be able to achieve it single handedly," shares Johny. "I reached out to people at North South University Young Entrepreneurs Society (NSU YES!), whose aspirations matched mine. My family members have been very supportive."
Adbox believes that empathy brings them closer to understanding their clients, and helps them solve their problems in the most practical ways. "Our idea is not just about making traditional videos but also about reflecting emotions," says Durjoy. "Our team is very collaborative when it comes to work, and everyone is allowed to give their opinions. Whenever our clients demand something, all of our team members relate the situation with themselves, which leads us to our desired outputs."
Adbox does not compromise on quality, and they choose focus and mastery in tasks, instead of being a jack of all trades. "We don't try to cut costs by hiring one person for taking on several different roles simultaneously," adds Nehal. "For each step of video production, we employ the right professionals to do it well. Hence, sound engineers manage the audio only, cinematographers are in control of the camera and editors are responsible for video editing and nothing else." They have several popular brands and corporations as their clients.
The Adbox team also includes Syed Abm Affan, Creative Copywriter and Shariful Haque Shagor, Creative Designer. The team was supported by NSU YES!, where the members met each other and found their passion.
Adbox is planning on creating YouTube and Facebook videos, and they've already started Flexbox, which is an entertainment based channel. They hope to start business and technology based channels as well.
