Customs Intelligence officials seized around 495 mobile phone sets worth Tk 3 crores at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning.

Acting on a tip off, a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) recovered the mobile phones from six drums at the airfreight unit of the airport in the morning, said Abu Hanif Mohammad Abdul Ahad, assistant director of CIID.

Abu Hanif told our Chattogram correspondent that NS Enterprise of Dhaka's Jatrabari brought the mobile phone sets of different brands illegally from China in the name of importing detergent for textile finishing.
