Deceased Shohag Mia, 26, was a member of local Sramik League and a battery-run auto-rickshaw driver, reports our Bogra correspondent.

Meanwhile, police detained local JP leader Abdul Latif, JP activist Shajal and local AL Joint Secretary and Shantahar Union Parishad Chairman Ashraful Alam Mintu for interrogation in connection with the clash.

District police administration closed Sub-Inspector Sanowar Hossain, in-charge of Shantahar police outpost, Assistant Town Sub-Inspector Abdul Khaleque and constable Mamun for their alleged negligence in connection with the incident, police sources said.
