Symphony becomes the second company to produce PCB Assembly locally

Symphony Mobile has started experimental production of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembly for mobile phones at their second manufacturing unit at Aukpara in Ashulia. With this move, Symphony Mobile becomes the second manufacturer of locally produced PCBs in Bangladesh.

Earlier this year in October, Walton announced that it is starting the commercial production of single-layered, double-layered and multi-layered PCB's locally, for the first time in Bangladesh.

According to Symphony, the second manufacturing unit of Symphony Mobile has been set up across a 67 thousand square feet multi-storied and the factory will also produce mobile phone accessories including chargers, headphones, data cables and so on alongside PCBs.

The factory also plans to begin production of mobile phone displays shortly, said Symphony in a press release.

Initially, Symphony has planned to produce and assemble 2 lakh pieces of PCBs per month from the factory, which will create about 2,000 jobs, according to the press release.

"Symphony Mobile has been working for mobile phone production in the country from the very beginning. In addition to inaugurating the first factory, Symphony started the construction of the second factory without delay. As a result of its success, we have been able to build a second factory in just two years," said Zakaria Shahid, Managing Director of Symphony.

Zakaria Shahid also noted that Symphony Mobile is planning to export mobile phone parts to foreign markets.

Printed Circuit Boards are an essential component of electrical devices used to mechanically support and electrically connect components inside an electrical device. PCBs are largely favoured due to their compact size, low cost and reliability.
