Fifty Shades of grey, Pixels lead the worst of 2015
The Razzies have singled out Hollywood’s worst productions in 2015 a day before the industry honours the best movies of the year with the Academy Award nominations.
The Golden Raspberry Awards, also known as the Razzies, have announced the nominees to be recognised as the worst movies in 2015, reports Entertainment Weekly.
Erotic drama Fifty Shades of Grey, which was a blockbuster hit in 2015, tied with Pixels, Jupiter Ascending, and Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 for the most nominations for Razzie Awards 2016 with six in total.
Fifty Shades of Grey got nominations for the Worst Picture, Worst Actor (Jamie Dornan), Worst Actress (Dakota Johnson), Worst Director (Sam Taylor-Johnson), Worst Screen Combo (Dornan and Johnson together), and Worst Screenplay.
Oscar winners at last year’s Academy Awards ceremony, Eddie Redmayne and Julianne Moore, found themselves on the worst list for 2015. Redmayne got nominated for his supporting role in Jupiter Ascending while Moore was nominated for Seventh Son.
Current Oscar contenders Johnny Depp and Rooney Mara were also singled out by the Razzies for their 2015 works Mortdecai and Pan respectively.
However, even the Razzies bring out the light of hope as the ceremony includes a ‘Razzie Redeemer Award’, which honours the past Razzie Award winners and nominees who managed to rebound later on. The contenders in this year’s list include Elizabeth Banks, Will Smith, Sylvester Stallone, and M Night Shyamalan.
The complete list of the Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Awards nominations is below.
