Hospital in Dhaka fined Tk 6 lakh

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-1) fined Regent Hospital Limited in the capital's Uttara Tk 6 lakh for different anomalies yesterday.

The court found anomalies including using date expired reagents in pathology department, technician's signature on pathology reports instead of doctor and unapproved blood bank, says a Rab-1 press release. 

Firoz Ahmad, executive magistrate conducted the drive in presence of Dr Manzur Ahmad, assistant director of health department.

Ahsan Habib Majumdar, director of the hospital, said there was a date expired reagent by mistake, and added, they don't operate blood bank, attendants of an emergency patient stored a bag of blood and left it at the hospital while they left. Also, in emergency, technician signs the medical report in absence of doctor when patients need it urgently.
