Channel i pays tribute to Razzak
Abdur Razzak has been one of the most beloved actors in Bangladeshi cinema. On 23 January 2016, he turned 75 and to mark this occasion, Channel i paid a special tribute to him, handing him a Lifetime Achievement Award.
In the film fraternity, he is a force to be reckoned with. Even at this age, he is one of the most popular actors of our country. Having worked for so many years, he is a favourite across different generations. And, having inspired generations of artists, he is rightfully an ambassador to Bengali cinema. We only wish that there were more artists like him; the dedication and passion he brings to the screen is indeed noteworthy.
It is often seen that we don't give recognition to the living legends when it is due. Instead, we celebrate their achievements after their demise. However, Channel i - with the salutation that they have given to Razzak, or Nayak Raj, as he is more commonly known - has taken a departure from the ordinary. The organisers of the programme indeed deserve a vote of thanks for taking this initiative.
And hats off to Razzak, for the memorable performances he has gifted us throughout the past few decades.
