Foggy Dhaka mornings to persist for 2/3 days
Though the biting cold of the last week has subsided, the fog in Dhaka will persist for a few more days, said an official of the Met office today.
Moderate to dense fog will persist in Dhaka for at least two more days, said Abul Kalam Mollik, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
The fog, that will form overnight, might persist until 10:00am but will clear within noon. However, in areas adjoining river basins, the fog might linger a bit longer.
Meanwhile, ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia route on Padma river was disrupted for 10 hours because of dense fog this morning, reports UNB.
Salahuddin, manager (commercial) of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) at Aricha, said they kept suspended ferry services on the route from 11:30pm last night to 9:30am today due to blurred visibility.
Three ferries remained motionless in the middle of the river. About 400 hundred vehicles, including buses, trucks and cars, remained stranded at Paturia while 200 vehicles at Daulatdia.
