Customs officials today seized gold bars weighing around 6 kilograms from underneath the seat of a flight coming in from Doha at Dhaka airport.
The price of the gold is estimated to be around Tk 3 crore, Shahiduzzaman Sarkar, an assistant commissioner of airport customs, told The Daily Star.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The gold was found under the seat of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane that came via Chittagong and landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 1:15pm.
Customs official are suspecting the involvement of Biman staffs with the smuggling.
