The couple used to work at a garment factory and live near their workplace in the city. But the pandemic made them jobless, forcing them to move to their village home in Sandwip, an island in Chattogram.

Retailers, from hawkers to storeowners, come here to buy the masks in bulk and sell them for Tk 2-5 each.
