Huawei kicks off ‘Seeds for the Future 2021 Bangladesh’
Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited launched 'Seeds for the Future 2021 Bangladesh', for the seventh year in Bangladesh, to inspire ICT talents who will shape the future of Bangladesh. The announcement came through a virtual inauguration event today.
Minister of State for Information and Communication Technology Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak was present at the virtual inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Dr Md. Rafiqul Islam Sheikh, Vice-Chancellor, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology; Dr Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice-Chancellor, Ahsanullah University of Engineering and Technology; George Lin, President, Enterprise Business Group, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited also joined the event with other high officials. Dr Mohammad Rubaiyat Tanvir Hossain, Head of EEE, Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology presented the keynote on ICT talent development and 'Seeds For The Future'.
'Seeds for the Future' is Huawei's flagship CSR program dedicated to top STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and non-STEM students worldwide and is meant for developing local talent, enhance knowledge transfer, and promote a greater understanding and interest in the ICT sector.
This year, students from different science and engineering universities will join the event and 18 most talented students based on their academic record, knowledge and innovative thinking will be selected as the winner from Bangladesh. Those students will be moved to the next step which will be a common platform for all winners of different countries.
Launched globally in 2008 in Thailand, 'Seeds for the Future' has been implemented in around 130 countries worldwide. Around 9,000 students and 500+ universities around the world have been benefitted from this program so far.
