Hilsa fish being salted by traders at the old fishery ghat in the port city’s Firinghee Bazar area yesterday as a 22-day ban on hilsa fishing takes effect on October 4, during which the salted fish will be sold throughout the country. For every 80 pieces of salted hilsa, the price will range from Tk 1,600 to Tk 60,000 depending on the size and weight of the fish.
