Gallery-Q showcases female artists
Gallery-Q is hosting the seventh exhibition of the female artists' collective "Colours" at the capital's Banani, featuring 86 pieces from nine artists.
Most of the pieces at the exhibition are conceptual, borne out of years of practise and creativity of the participating artists, said a press release.
Each artist has transformed tales from everyday life into their work, each expressing their ideas in a myriad of ways -- some through abstract art, some with surrealist conceptions, while others played around with three-dimensional spaces and sculpting.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Shilpakala Academy director of arts Mini Karim and Gulshan Society general secretary Barrister Shukla Sarwat Siraj.
The participanting artists are Farhana Afroz, Farzana Islam, Manideepa Dasgupta, Morzia Begum, Mosammat Shaila Akhter, Mukti Bhowmik, Rebecca Sultana Molly, Rehana Yasmin and Rifat Jahan Kanta.
This is the first time Gallery-Q is organising an art exhibition. The exhibition ends today.
