14 Covid-19 deaths, 481 cases recorded in 24 hours

Fourteen people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8 am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 27,688, and the death rate stands at 1.77 percent.

At least 481 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 15,62,359, added the release.

The current positivity rate is 2.36 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 15.70 percent.

A total of 20,355 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.

At least 699 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 15,23,833 and the recovery rate at 97.53 percent.

Among the 14 deceased, three were men and 11 were women. Of them, one was between the ages of 11 and 20, one between 31-40, one between 41-50, three between 51-60, and eight were above 60 years old, added the release.
