The whole nation was shocked when a group of miscreants burned down 20 Hindu homes at a village in Rangpur's Pirganj upazila.

Celebrities Bidya Sinha Mim and Kumar Biswajit have expressed their bereavement over the incident to The Daily Star.

"It is sad for an individual is to feel like an outsider in their own country. It is a curse to live as part of a minority group. I really don't have anything more to say," mentions Kumar Bishwajit. 

Bidya Sinha Mim also expressed her sadness over the incident.

"These acts should not be tolerated against any religion. I am really saddened by the whole situation. I always respect every religion and when I read about this incident and saw the pictures, it completely broke me apart. I really hope that the government takes effective actions against the perpetrators, and bring justice to the victims."
