A red avadavat, red munia or strawberry finch, popularly known as Lal Munia in Bangla, feeding on lichen on a wetland in the capital’s Aftabnagar. This strikingly beautiful bird, which eats seeds of different grasses, is mainly seen in Dhaka, Munshiganj, Sylhet and Rajshahi.
