Why is the BFDC crowded with outsiders?
Stars have raised concerns regarding the crowds of external visitors at the BFDC, ahead of the Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association elections.
They have also complained of not being able to campaign properly in areas that are key performance indicators, due to the crowds.
A large number of outsiders was seen at the BFDC on Sunday evening. As Covid-19 cases are on the rise across the country, such a crowd is a cause for panic for the artistes.
Popular actor Misha Sawdagor, Presidential candidate of the Misha-Zayed panel in the elections, shared that he will file a complaint with the Managing Director of the BFDC, as it is not possible to even move properly inside the venue due to the crowds.
"Artistes are coming to the BFDC as they have work to do ahead of the elections. But why are there so many outsiders here? These conditions are unsafe," said actor and General Secretary candidate Zayed Khan.
Noted actress Anjana, a candidate of the elections, shared that she couldn't even walk properly because of the crowds at the BFDC. "Who are these outsiders? Other than clicking selfies with the stars and recording videos with their mobile phones, they have no real reason to be here. The authorities need to take this matter into consideration," she said.
"It seems like we are spending more time clicking selfies than campaigning for votes, as a lot of outsiders are coming by the BFDC," said actor Symon Sadik, Co-general Secretary candidate from the Ilias-Nipun panel. "We have brought this matter to the attention of BFDC's Managing Director. He said the gate has to be kept open as construction work is going on. So, it is not possible at the moment to prevent entries of external visitors into the BFDC."
As the Film Artistes' Association elections are set to be held on January 28, artistes are coming to the BFDC every day, campaigning for votes.
