Idris Ali primarily makes a living working as a farmhand in the northern district of Nilphamari. During the lean season, the period between planting and harvesting when job opportunities are scarce and incomes plummet, he packs his bags and migrates to Dhaka. Purchasing pots, pans and plastic toys at wholesale from Chawkbazar, he then goes round neighbourhoods earning his daily bread as a hawker. The photo was taken at Jurain yesterday.
