Biman’s flight delayed after 3 passengers trapped inside lift at Ctg airport

A flight of Bangladesh Biman was delayed for around 30 minutes as three of its passengers were trapped inside a lift of a lounge at Chattogram Shah Amanat International Airport this afternoon.

However, the passengers later managed to get out of the lift through its security door, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.

The incident happened at the MTB Lounge of the airport lounge around 1:30 pm, said according to airport sources.

The sources said the flight -- BG 4136 -- of the national airline landed in Chattogram from Jeddah. After dropping the passengers there, the plane was waiting to fly for Dhaka but its three Dhaka-bound passengers got stuck inside the lift.

The airport manager Wing Commander Farhad Hossain Khan told The Daily Star that "The lounge is on the first floor. The passengers were trapped inside the lift while coming to the ground floor. There are some technical glitches on the lift. MTB Lounge will fix it to avert any unwanted incident in future."

"Taking the trapped passengers, the flight left for Dhaka," he added.
