Nepal’s Himalaya Airlines launch Ctg-Kathmandu flights
Himalaya Airlines, a private air operator of Nepal, today (April 7, 2022) inaugurated its first ever direct flight on the Chattogram-Kathmandu route.
Carrying 20 passengers, the maiden flight of the airline left Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattagram for Kathmandu at 2:55pm today, said Md Moniruzzaman, director of SAir Air BD Ltd, general sales agent of the Nepalese air operator.
High officials of the Chattagram Airport including its Director Wing Cdr Farhad Hossen Khan, Assistant Director (security) Shahidul Islam, GSA Chairman Shadath Hossain Sagor, and GSA Director Moniruzzaman Rose were present on the occasion.
Moniruzzaman said the airlines will initially operate two weekly flights on this route.
At present, the Nepalese airline is operating seven weekly flights on the Dhaka-Kathmandu route, the airlines said.
It will take around one hour and 40 minutes to travel from Chattogram to Kathmandu by air. The fare will be between Tk 28,000 to 32,000.
The airline has appointed S Air Air BD Ltd as its general sales agents.
