Popular film star Siam Ahmed's "Shaan", co-starring Puja Chery, opened in theatres this Eid to much fanfare. Besides, the actor and his wife, Shamma Rushafy Abantee, were recently blessed with a baby boy. In a conversation with The Daily Star, Siam talks about fatherhood, spending Eid with his family, and more.

"During my childhood, I, along with my family, went to my village in Pirojpur a lot. My paternal grandmother was alive and well at the time," shares Siam. "We would roam around our hometown, and enjoy picnics. Those memories are still fresh in my mind. I watched a Bangla film for the first time at a theatre with my cousins in my village."

As a new parent, Siam feels that this Eid-Ul-Fitr was an entirely different experience for him.

"This year is truly special for my wife and me. Our son was born in the month of Ramadan, just like I was. Our families are overjoyed. This Eid was one of the best days of our lives," he adds.

The actor also conveys his best wishes to all his colleagues, who have new films releasing during the Eid season.

"Besides 'Shaan', I hope all the films that have been released do well. I will be watching my film with my fans in theatres. I wish everyone a blessed Eid," he concludes.
