US Embassy wishes 55yr old DU admission seeker Balayet good luck
The US Embassy in Dhaka has wished 55-year-old Balayet Sheikh ahead of Dhaka University admission test.
"We are excited to see that Balayet Sheikh from Mawna in Gazipur is currently preparing for his Dhaka University entrance exam at the age of 55," read a post by the US embassy on its verified Facebook page today (May 22, 2022).
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. "Despite personal setbacks and going against social norms, Balayet never stopped dreaming and went on to obtain his Higher Secondary School Certificate in 2021," it said.
"#DidYouKnow 73% of adults in the United States consider themselves lifelong learners? The United States embraces the enthusiasm and values older learners, especially those who never stop dreaming and go back to school later in life just like Balayet Sheikh! Best of luck to you!" added the post.
Balayet said his dream is to study in the Mass Communication and Journalism department of DU. On June 11, he will sit for the D unit admission test at DU.
