Booters reach Malaysia in high spirits
After a goalless draw in an international friendly against Indonesia on Wednesday, Bangladesh reached Kuala Lumpur today to gear up for the Asian Cup Qualifiers, starting from June 8. Bangladesh were placed in Group E alongside Malaysia, Bahrain and Turkmenistan.
Having held Indonesia to a draw after 37 years, Bangladesh's contingent was jovial on arrival in Malaysia as they were afforded a welcome reception at the airport by Bangladeshi expatriates.
Coach Javier Cabrera was also happy with the draw, especially given the team could not quite carry out the game plan that he had moulded for the Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Team manager Iqbal Hossain informed that all the players were in good spirits and that there would be no training tomorrow. Iqbal added that one player, who could not travel with the team due to a problem with his passport, would join the squad tomorrow.
"Mahbubur Rahman Sufil is going to join the team tomorrow. We don't have any practice sessions tomorrow but the players will do recovery sessions in the swimming pool and gym," said the former national footballer.
