Mamnun Hasan Emon made his silver screen debut in 2007, with Tauquir Ahmed directorial "Daruchini Dwip".

He has been featured in a number of films, which includes some critically acclaimed films like "Gohine Shobdo", and "Laal Tip".

The actor is playing one of the important roles in Anjan Aich directorial "Agamikal" which releases today, in 30 cinema halls across the country. The film also features Zakia Bari Mamo, Shatabdi Wadud, Faruk Ahmed, and Saberi Alam.

According to Emon, "Agamikal" is a psychological thriller that highlights contemporary issues. It contains different facets of humans.

Mamo and Emon made their debut together in "Daruchini Dwip", and after 15 years, they have paired for "Agamikal". "It is true that Mamo and I are not seen on screen often, yet, we share a great bond."

The film was shot before the pandemic. "Although we completed shooting, we couldn't release it, as halls were closed for a long time," says Emon.

"Just before the pandemic, one of my projects, 'Password' released. It is, until now, the biggest hit film in my career."

Six films are releasing simultaneously today, and Emon asserted that he is very happy to see such scenarios in our films. "I am excited about the fact that theatres are open, people have choices and they can go watch movies," he says.

Quite a number of the projects that Emon was working on, have been halted due to the pandemic. The actor shares that he went through a physical transformation for Saikat Nasir's upcoming film "Akbar-Once Upon a Time in Dhaka".

However, shooting for the film was also stopped. "It was very depressing as an actor, as I had worked really hard to prepare myself for the role I am playing," he shares. "We are about to begin the shoots once again, and currently I am on a mission to transform myself for the project."

This year is going to be a great one for Emon, as a good number of films are going to hit the theatres. Some of them are— "Birotto", "Kanamachhi", "Kagoj"—they are looking to be a turning point of the actor's career.

Emon is now looking for story-based projects, rather than films which follow a certain formula. "If we observe Tollywood, we can see that they have moved on from generic commercial movies and they are now producing more story-based films in a more artistic manner," he says.

The actor claims that film fraternity will flourish once again, and he can already sense that. "Shakib Khan has worked in "Golui", a story-based plot. A few years ago, we couldn't even imagine a scenario like that. Our film industry is changing," says Emon.
