Bangladeshi plays ‘Shukh’ and ‘Jera’ staged at India

Bangladeshi plays "Shukh" and "Jera", directed by Yusuf Hasan Arko, has been staged in two states of India, in different festivals.

Under the banner of Kobial, the play "Shukh" was staged at Udaypur, on June 9 at the 'Little Drama Organisation' festival, which kicked off in Tripura on June 6 and ran until the 10th. While the play "Jera" produced by the Drama and Dramatics department, was staged on June 10, at Udaypur.

The director, Dr A K M Yusuf Hassan, widely known as Yusuf Hassan Arko is also a writer, Professor, Department of Drama & Dramatics, Jahangirnagar University, and also a member of the popular theatre group, Nattyakendra.

Both plays are adaptations of their Egyptian counterparts, adapted by eminent theatre, television, and film actor Tariq Anam Khan.

"Shukh" and "Jera" were staged later on June 11 and 12, respectively, at Dhormonagar, Tripura, in two festivals "Bornomala" and "Nattyo Mohona".

Elite Hightech industries Ltd have sponsored the travel and other expenditures, related to the productions of Kobial.
