UAP Prof. awarded the American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Presidential Medal and honorary membership
UAP School of Environmental Sciences and Design Dean Prof. Dr Abu Sayeed M. Ahmed has been awarded the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) Presidential Medal and honorary membership. AIA President Daniel S. Hart presented the medal during the AIA Congress held on June 25 in Chicago.
Prof. Dr Sayeed is the current President of Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA), an organisation of 22 Asian countries. He was also the former President of the Institute of Architects of Bangladesh.
This honour has been awarded to Prof. Sayeed in recognition of his achievements not only within ARCASIA (Architects Regional Council of Asia) but also for his efforts to enhance the understanding and interaction of architects worldwide.
Prof. Dr Sayeed is actively involved in the heritage protection and preservation movement in Bangladesh, and is currently engaged in several restoration projects. Recently he received the Award of Merit of the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation.
The UAP family is extremely proud of his achievements, and the recognition and honours he has received.
