Mejbaur Rahman Sumon's directorial debut "Hawa" is breaking records all across the country. The power of "Hawa" was also felt in some of Dhaka's most iconic theatres such as Madhumita Cinema Hall—where, for the first time ever, the three opening shows of the movie were houseful.

Iftekhar Uddin Noushad, the owner of Madhumita Cinema Hall, confirmed the news to The Daily Star.

"This is a record for Madhumita Cinema Hall, as no other movies in the last 5-6 years could bring in so many viewers at once. 'Hawa' literally blew away audiences on the first day of its release. We really hope its popularity keeps on skyrocketing amongst viewers," said Iftekhar Uddin Noushad.

"If the audience continues coming to the theatre in this manner, then we can finally change the landscape of Bangladeshi cinema. The viewers will get better content, while producers will invest in quality scripts. The best thing about 'Hawa' is its beautiful plot. The film's storytelling ability is what attracted the audience to come to theatres to watch the movie," added the owner of Madhumita Cinema Hall.
