Mirsharai tragedy: Gateman suspended for “negligence of duty”

Chattogram Railway today (July 30, 2022) suspended Saddam Hosen, the gateman of the level-crossing in Mirsharai upazila where an accident killed 11 teachers and students yesterday (July 29, 2022).
The gateman was suspended due to negligence in duty, reports our staff correspondent, quoting Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Abul Kalam Chowdhury.

Meanwhile, railway police filed a case against Saddam in connection with the accident.
Police held Saddam from Baratakia area last evening.
