Bangladeshi filmmaker, Juboraj Shamim's film "Adim" (The Instinct) has been selected for the main competition category of the Moscow International Film Festival. The official website for the film festival unveiled the 12 films selected for the main category on August 12.

"Adim" is a crowd-funded movie that was shot in the Tongi slum, with actual slum dwellers. The 84-minute film is a joint production of Bangladesh and Netherlands. Director Juboraj sold shares of his film for only BDT 5000, so that he could raise funds to produce the film.

The movie features an ensemble cast including Badshah, Shohagi, Dulal, and Sadek. "Adim" depicts the true scenario of slums, showcasing how poverty leads to illegal activities such as drug dealing.

In 2019, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki's "Saturday Afternoon" was selected for the prestigious Moscow International Film Festival. The film secured two wins: The Russian film critics' award and the 'Kommersant Weekend' prize.

Juboraj Shamim and Mohammad Nuruzzaman—the film's executive producer—are expected to arrive in Moscow on August 27. The world premiere of "Adim" will take place on August 30.

The 44th Moscow International Film Festival will run from August 26 to September 2.
