Bangladesh ranks 5th in the world on TikTok content removal
TikTok has removed almost 5 million videos from Bangladeshi users from April to June this year, states TikTok's latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report. The recent report covers statistics regarding the second quarter of 2022, specifically the three months of April, May and June. As per the report, Bangladesh had a proactive removal rate of 99.2% with a total of 4,974,838 videos removed during this time period. These videos, according to TikTok, were removed due to community guidelines violation.
Removal rate of videos before 24 hours since upload was 96.1%, and removal rate before any views was 96.3%. In the previous quarter, January to March 2022, the removal rate before 24 hours was 97.9% and the removal rate before any views was 95.8%. Proactive removal rate last quarter was the exact same at 99.2%, though the number of videos removed from Bangladeshi users were significantly lower last year, counting at 3,475,456 videos, a little under 3.5 million.
As it can be observed, despite the removal rate before 24 hours showing a slight decrease, there was a significant increase in the number of videos removed from Bangladeshi TikTok users within the three months. With these numbers, Bangladesh ranks 5th in TikTok's list of countries with most videos removed from April to June 2022. With a whopping 17,968,670 videos removed in this quarter, the US came in first place, followed by Pakistan, Philippines and Indonesia. In the previous quarter report, Bangladesh was 7th, and in the October to December 2021 quarter report, Bangladesh was ranked 7th as well in the list of countries with the most TikTok videos removed.
