Bangladesh Wedding Couture Week 2022 (BWCW): Day two highlights wedding couture
Day two of Bangladesh Wedding Couture Week 2022 (BWCW) presented by TRESemmé and driven by Mercedes-Benz brought to the spotlight everything the bride and groom needs to fill their wedding day with glamour, and to make them the centre of attention.
Jewellery is a quintessential part of any wedding. Be it jewellery that our grandparents wore or new pieces, the wedding day ornaments are what we talk about years after the event. With that, Jarwa House delivered on its promise of detailed and intricate jewellery incorporating jade and rubies with gold.
Women's fashion choices have always been plentiful. The same cannot be said for men, as the only thing they can opt for is either a classic panjabi or sherwani. The Groom's Collection by Zurhem — the first to take the stage — should revolutionise menswear, taking inspiration from the Mughal era. With zardozi embroidery and elegant embellishments, Mehruz Munir brought regal back into men's wedding attire with intricate gold work on black, blue, pink, white, and in pastels.
Red has always been the bride's colour. Sarah Karim Couture, known for its bridal couture, introduced their Bridal Collection bringing the colour red's vogue aesthetic while playing with colours like pink, magenta, navy blue, gold, white, and pastel shades. With lehengas, kameez, and kurtis mainly focusing on the shades of red and maroon, the heavy sequins work and embellishments were showstoppers.
Sarah Karim's collection featured a colour palette of vibrant colours with shades of wine and matte gold. Known as one of the first designers standing in tough competition against Indian designers, her bridal wear is created with elaborate gold and embroidery threads on heavier fabrics like raw and soft silk, Banarasi, and Katan.
BWCW is highlighting local artisans and designers who are bringing consumers the one-stop solution for all their wedding necessities and revolutionising the wedding industry in Bangladesh one collection at a time.
