Demanding VC's removal: Bangamata Tech Univ teachers stage demo for 14 days
Teachers of the Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science and Technology University, at Jamalpur's Malandah, have been continuing their protests for 14 days, demanding the removal of Vice Chancellor Prof Syed Samsuddin Ahmed over allegations of corruption and nepotism in the recruitment process.
Since November 1, the protesting teacher have been continuing work abstention, leading to academic losses for students, reports our Jamalpur correspondent.
Meanwhile, a syndicate meeting was called for 3:00pm today, with the sudden cancellation owing to VC's illness causing an uproar among the teachers.
The agitating teachers said on various occasions, the VC Samsuddin had claimed to be ill unnecessarily.
However, next Thursday is the last working day of the VC.
The agitating teachers demanded that the VC should not be re-appointed.
This correspondent could not reach the VC for comments in this regard, despite repeated calls.
