Warner Bros did not want Henry Cavill to return as Superman
Hollywood heartthrob Henry Cavill will soon be reprising his role as Superman, with many fans excited to see him back. However, it has now been revealed that Warner Bros were not keen on his return.
Apparently, "Black Adam" star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson had to convince Warner Bros to bring back Henry Cavill, to play Black Adam's arch nemesis.
Dwayne Johnson posted a video to his Twitter, where he talked about how he had to 'fight' to make Black Adam look invincible, a part of which involved getting Henry Cavill to return as Superman.
"In order to ensure Black Adam was the most powerful and unstoppable force, we needed Superman to fight him, and that could be none other than Henry Cavill," said Dwayne.
Dwayne Johnson went on to add that the studios tried to make up 'inexplicable' and 'inexcusable' reasons to not bring back Henry Cavill. However, Dwayne wouldn't take no for an answer and ensured Henry would return for the movie.
The wrestler-turned-actor stated, "Henry Cavill is the greatest Superman and he is a fabulous actor."
Meanwhile, Henry Cavill announced on social media that he would also be reprising his role as Superman in a new Warner Bros-DC film, following his appearance in DC's "Black Adam" back in October of this year.
