Woman dies after being hit and dragged by car at DU
In a freak accident, a woman was hit by a private car and dragged around for several hundred yards on Dhaka University (DU) campus this afternoon. She was left critically injured and later died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The person who was driving the car is a former teacher of DU. Witnesses seized the car and beat up the driver. BNP rally in Rajshahi
With just a day left for the divisional rally in Rajshahi and a transport strike underway, leaders and activists are heading to the city through alternative means. Many took the train to reach Rajshahi in preparation for tomorrow's rally. A number of BNP activists said they faced questions from policemen on their way to Rajshahi. Meanwhile, BNP leaders and activists in Bogura today alleged that they faced obstructions from police on their way to Rajshahi to attend the party's divisional rally tomorrow.
'Made in Bangladesh' Hyundai cars
The Hyundai Manufacturing Plant was recently established by Fair Technology at Bangabandhu Hi-Tech Park in Gazipur's Kaliakoir. And they are full of good news for consumers in Bangladesh. They unveiled Hyundai's new Creta 2023 SUV in the Bangladesh market.
And in more exciting news, 'Made in Bangladesh' Hyundai passenger vehicles will hit the road early next year.
Vehicle ploughs into restaurant killing 5
In yet another instance of freak road accidents in Bangladesh, a vehicle ploughed into a restaurant in Jashore today killing five people. The accident took place around 7:30am at Bagaritola area after the driver of the covered van lost control of the vehicle. The victims were having breakfast at the restaurant and died on the spot.
